In recent years, there has been a nascent movement of designers acting on their own initiative to solve problematic urban problemss. The U.S. Pavilion at the 2012 Venice Architecture Biennale will present Spontaneous Interventions: design for the common good, an exhibit intended to frame an archive 150 notable projects. The design package includes branding, web, print and exhibit, and aims to conceptually relate the culture of design activism with the foundational concerns of the architecture discipline.
